Grants to support travel for early-career researchers (ECRs) planning to attend the SCAR 2020 Open Science Conference https://www.scarcomnap2020.org/ are offered by PAIS
The grants will be a maximum of $2,000 USD to help with travel and registration costs and are specifically for ECRs. An ECR is defined broadly as those researchers who have accumulated up to 10 years of research since completing their PhD (taking into account periods of part-time research or career breaks). We will also consider applications from students and senior scientists, with priority to PhD students nearing the end of their studentships with high quality research results to present.
To apply please send an email to Tim Naish (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or Laura De Santis (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with the following information:
- A description and/or evidence of your ECR or student status.
- Estimated required travel and registration support.
- A note of other sources of funding that will be supporting your travel to SCAR2020.
- Your submitted abstract as evidence that you will present on topics relevant to PAIS.
Applications will be accepted up the next working day after the OSC abstract deadline (OSC deadline 28 February, next working day 2 March). Applications will then be reviewed by the PAIS Steering Committee and awards made conditional on abstract acceptance. The amount awarded to successful applicants will depend on a number of factors including: science quality; alignment with the aims of PAIS; travel requirements; and the number of applicants.
